Safety Rules & Participant Requirements

Core guest safety and participation rules.

SAFETY RULES & PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS

1. Safety Comes First

Blue X Ocean Adventures is committed to providing a professional and safety-focused guest experience. All participants must follow the instructions of authorized Blue X personnel, captains, guides, instructors, marina personnel, and approved operating partners.

Safety requirements may vary by destination, activity, equipment, weather, local law, insurer, marina, and operating conditions. The instructions given by the authorized operating team on the day of the activity control when they are more restrictive than this general policy.

2. Check-In and Identification

Guests must arrive by the check-in time stated in their reservation confirmation. Sufficient time should be allowed for identification, waivers, safety briefing, equipment fitting, and departure procedures.

Operators and adult participants may be required to present valid government-issued photo identification. Any legally required boating or watercraft credential, temporary certificate, permit, or other documentation must be presented when applicable.

3. Age and Operator Requirements

Minimum ages for operating or riding a Jet Ski, Jet Car, personal watercraft, or other marine equipment depend on the destination, equipment, applicable law, insurer, and operating partner.

Blue X will publish or communicate the applicable age and operator requirements for each experience. A guest who does not satisfy the required age, licensing, certification, or supervision requirement may not operate the equipment.

Minors must have authorization from a parent or legal guardian where required and may be subject to additional participation restrictions.

4. Safety Briefing Is Mandatory

Every participant must complete the required safety briefing before participating. The briefing may include equipment controls, emergency shut-off procedures, safe following distance, speed restrictions, navigation boundaries, hand signals, passenger behavior, prohibited maneuvers, emergency response, and return procedures.

A participant who misses or refuses the required briefing may not participate.

5. Personal Flotation Devices and Safety Equipment

Participants must wear properly fitted personal flotation devices and any other safety equipment required by the activity, law, insurer, manufacturer, or operating team.

Safety equipment may not be removed, altered, disabled, or intentionally misused during the activity.

6. Alcohol, Drugs, and Impairment

No person may operate marine equipment while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, misused prescription medication, or any substance that affects judgment, balance, coordination, reaction time, or safe operation.

Blue X or the authorized operating team may refuse participation when there is a reasonable safety concern regarding impairment. Guests should not consume alcohol before operating equipment.

7. Health and Fitness to Participate

Marine activities may involve movement, vibration, impact, sun exposure, heat, boarding, balance, and physical exertion. Participants are responsible for considering whether they are physically able to participate safely.

Guests should disclose relevant limitations or accommodation needs to the reservations or operating team before participation so that the team can determine whether reasonable and safe participation is possible.

Blue X personnel do not provide medical diagnoses. When a participant is uncertain whether an activity is appropriate because of a medical or physical condition, the participant should obtain appropriate medical guidance before participating.

8. Pregnancy and Other Higher-Risk Conditions

Certain high-speed or high-impact marine activities may not be appropriate during pregnancy or for individuals with certain back, neck, heart, seizure, balance, recent-surgery, or other conditions that could be aggravated by the activity.

Activity-specific restrictions should be communicated before participation and may be more restrictive based on operating conditions or professional guidance.

9. Safe Conduct on the Water

Participants must remain within authorized operating areas and follow all speed, distance, navigation, wake, environmental, and no-entry restrictions communicated by the operating team.

Reckless operation, racing unless expressly part of an authorized activity, intentional collisions, unsafe passing, unauthorized stunts, harassment of wildlife, entering restricted areas, and deliberately ignoring staff instructions are prohibited.

Operators must maintain a safe distance from swimmers, vessels, docks, shorelines, other participants, and hazards as directed.

10. Passenger Conduct

Passengers must remain properly positioned, keep hands and feet within safe areas where applicable, follow boarding and disembarking instructions, and avoid sudden or unsafe movement.

Passengers must not interfere with the operator's controls, visibility, concentration, or ability to safely operate the equipment.

11. Weather and Marine Conditions

Blue X may delay, modify, relocate, reschedule, shorten, or cancel an activity when weather, sea state, lightning, wind, visibility, marine traffic, government instruction, mechanical condition, or another safety factor makes operation inappropriate.

Guests must comply promptly with instructions to return to shore, dock, marina, or another designated location.

12. Equipment Condition and Damage Reporting

Participants should report visible damage or operational concerns before departure and immediately report any collision, grounding, impact, malfunction, injury, or damage that occurs during the activity.

Guests must not attempt unauthorized repairs, disable safety systems, or continue operating equipment after being instructed to stop.

Responsibility for guest-caused damage, where applicable, is addressed in the separate Equipment Responsibility Agreement and booking terms.

13. Prohibited Items and Conduct

Weapons, illegal substances, and items that create an unreasonable safety hazard are prohibited during Blue X activities.

Threatening, abusive, violent, intentionally dangerous, or seriously disruptive behavior may result in removal from the activity without continued participation, subject to applicable law and the circumstances.

14. Environmental Responsibility

Participants must follow instructions intended to protect marine life, beaches, reefs, waterways, and protected areas. Littering, dumping, intentionally disturbing wildlife, and entering prohibited environmental zones are not permitted.

15. Emergencies and Incidents

In an emergency, participants must follow instructions from the captain, guide, operator, staff, marina personnel, lifeguards, coast guard, harbor authority, or other authorized emergency personnel.

All injuries, collisions, missing persons, equipment damage, or significant safety incidents must be reported immediately to the Blue X operating team.

16. Refusal or Termination of Participation

Blue X or its authorized operating team may refuse, suspend, or terminate participation when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, equipment protection, or the protection of guests, staff, the public, or the environment.

Where a reservation is affected, any refund or rescheduling entitlement will be determined under the applicable booking and cancellation policy and mandatory law.

17. Waivers and Acknowledgments

Participants may be required to sign an activity-specific assumption-of-risk and liability waiver before participation. Minors may require a parent/guardian waiver and authorization.

This general safety policy does not replace destination-specific waivers, operator agreements, or legally required disclosures.

Guests must follow the requirements communicated for the destination in which the activity takes place.
